Performance Data
Our buildings perform better – the graph below illustrates the benefits of insulation and thermal mass in maintaining stable temperatures internally compared with external temperature fluctuations.
The data for this graph was obtained by an independent study of a Strine home at 13 Roma Mitchell Crescent, Majura Estate, North Watson, ACT in April 2006.
The ideal range of building interior temperature is about 23°C to 26°C in summer and 20°C to 23°C in winter. For the time of year of this data collection the desirable temperature range is between 21.5°C - 25°C. The graph illustrates that not only are the temperature variations in our home less extreme than the outside temperatures, but they also fall within the desirable temperature range for this time of year.
